Themes light and time are used to explore the bridge’s formal design and relationship with its environment.

I loaded my camera with light sensitive paper and set out to photographically study the bridge.

Interested in creating a panoramic like view, I photographed the bridge from multiple perspectives. These latent images are then developed in the darkroom and later physically collaged together.

The collages were then scanned and inverted in Photoshop creating positive images. Some images remained negative further emphasizing the materiality of the image making process.

Markings on the images serve as a record of my interaction with the subject and its surroundings.

The bridge’s form is portrayed in various lighting conditions, from the harsh midday light to nighttime when the bridge itself illuminates the surroundings.
